Angie’s Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies

My husband had a sweet tooth and asked me to bake some cookies. I was in the holiday spirit and figured I would give it a try. My sister, Angie, is a wonderful cookie-maker. She is well known in her neighborhood for her chocolate chip cookies. She will often get requests from neighbors and friends to make a batch, Yes, they are that good. So, I called my big sis and asked her for her recipe.

Here’s some advice from the master cookie maker: Soften your butter by letting it sit on the counter. Do not use melted butter from the microwave. Also, you want to make sure that your wet mix is fluffy. Use an electric mixer—unless you can stir like a washing machine spins on the rinse cycle. Also, use a bakers vanilla. It will tell you if it's specific for baking on the bottle.

And the result? They were perfect! I couldn't keep Trevor out of them. They were so good, I sent some to my father-in-law and Trevor's little sister. (With cookies that good, you don't want to keep them around the house long. I know it's December but I haven't found a cute pair of strechy pants yet.)

Here's the recipe. Enjoy!

Angie’s Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 ¼ Cups Flour

1 tsp Baking Soda

1 Cup Butter (salted)

¾ Cup Brown Sugar

2 ½ tsp Vanilla

2 Eggs

1 bag Chocolate Chips

Preheat the oven to 375. Start your dry mix in a smaller bowl mixing flour, baking soda, and salt. Set this mixture aside. Now, create your wet mix in a bigger bowl.  Beat butter and sugar until you have a nice and creamy mixture. Add vanilla and eggs until the mixture is fluffy. One cup at a time, add the dry mix to the wet mix with yor hand mixer on medium speed. Add bag of chocolate chips.  Drop tablespoons of dough onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake for ten minutes or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown.
